empathy
After we finished our shoot at at China Beach, Kim noticed a huge jellyfish that had been beached; she wouldn’t leave until she did all she could do to for it. First she ferried seawater back and forth to it with a plastic bag before we managed to carry it back to he ocean relatively intact. I don’t know if the jellyfish made it, but I was reminded about all the other beings we tend to overlook in our day to day lives.

adorable
Although babies can be difficult to shoot - they’re wriggly, easily distracted and unpredictable - they’re completely unselfconscious and don’t hide their feelings. It’s also a bonus when they’re as cute as Corey, pictured here with her mother, Justine.

ananda
I like Brazil. Not only do they produce excellent football players (that’s “soccer” to any Americans out there) but they are one of the warmest, most exuberant and best looking nations out there. If there was any doubt about the latter, here’s Ananda.

uncensored
People ask me from time to time why I enjoy shooting weddings. I have many reasons, but one is getting to capture pure, uncensored emotion. Here’s a wedding I shot a couple of weeks ago. Jeannie and Christian had their obstacles to overcome before they reached the altar, but when you saw them together it was obvious they were Meant To Be. I know it sounds cheesy, but there was so much love there, you could poke it with a stick. Outstanding.
I’ve got to hand it to my web host, Laughing Squid. Yesterday, I got 14,000 unique visitors from Fark.com who looked at a quarter of a million pages, but I still wasn’t slashdotted.

pride
Every July, San Francsico hosts one of the world’s biggest street parties, Gay Pride day, and last weekend was no exception. More than 300,000 people of *all* kinds showed up and I took the opportunity to add to my hips collection. I got 164 that day, bringing my total past 600. Since I’ve got so many, I decided to do a collection, themed by color, pattern or whatever. I think it works, but that’s for you to decide. Unfortunately, my primary camera is in the shop (I have shot more than 60,000 exposures on it after all) and I had to manually focus with a much clunkier Nikon 8008. Ugh.
