A lot’s happened since I updated this last: I quit my last part-time McJob and have finally gone pro, so to speak. It’s a good feeling to just do what you love and as long as I keep getting work, life is very good indeed.
18 days until Burning Man and I can’t wait to be back. I don’t know where I’ll be camped, but if you want to find me, just ask the good people at Media Mecca in Center Camp. I’ll also be teaching a couple of photography classes at the Medicine Planet Center on Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th of August at 2pm. Again, I’m not sure where on the playa this camp will be, but I’ll post it here as soon as I know. I’ll be shooting a bunch this year; in 2000 the weather was so bad I only got to shoot for two days. In any case, I’ll try to post my pictures within a week or so of the burn.
I’ve got another show opening next Thursday, August 16th, at the Squat and Gobble Cafe II, 1428 Haight Street (@ Masonic) San Francisco. The reception’s from 5pm to 8pm and you’re all invited. There are 20 pieces, all pictures of women. The show runs until late September. I’ve got a few pieces in another show, “Things,” a the Annex Digital, 69 Green Street (@ Front), San Francisco. The reception’s on Wednesday, August 29, from 6-8pm, but I’ll be at Burning Man by then.
And speaking of new things, I’ve posted a couple of new galleries, Giselle and Blauri. I’ve also edited down the number of photos on the site and made the thumbnails a little bigger.
I don’t know how many of you subscribe to Teen People, but there’s a shoot I did in the September issue (out any day now). I’ve got a bunch of other things going on, but I’ll spare you the details until my next missive.
